This is from Binding Birds series #8 (249-282). The group is distinguished by an extraordinary firing, yielding deep, lustrous blacks that can appear metallic. The carvings were more detailed than most birds from the previous series, and an extra round of burnishing meant that only light polishing was necessary to produce a glassy surface.

Each bird was uniquely shaped by hand, smoothed, carved, pebble-burnished, pit-fired, cleaned, and polished. This laborious process yields a natural beauty that can never be repeated—and no two birds are carved with the same design—which makes each one completely unique.

Because the size, color, and overall quality vary, each bird is priced individually.
